Kingfisher Training Academy Program

If you are looking at a high flying career as airlines cabin crew in the hospitality industry, you now have more options! The Kingfisher Training Academy, which already has a year old center in Mumbai, is planning to set up 25 centers by 2010. Out of the 25 proposed centers, 12 centers are coming up in the next two months and three of these will be in Delhi. Other cities where training centers are coming up are: Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata, Nagpur, Jaipur and Indore.

The academy would offer two courses - a six month training program in aviation and hospitality, with a fee of Rs. 1 lakh and a 12 month program in hospitality in hotel industry and aviation & hospitality training with a fee of Rs. 1.25 lakh. The Academy has tied up with banks for educational loans and the repayment would start only when students get a job.

The Mumbai center of the Academy has a 100 per cent placement record and it expects the same placement in Kingfisher, other airlines and the hospitality industry from its other centers. Kingfisher's own requirement is very large and is likely to be about 4000 cabin crew in the next one year.

The starting salary for cabin crew could be anything up to Rs. 40,000. After seven to ten years, the cabin crew professionals can move into allied disciplines such as guest service and operations.
Class XII pass students can apply for the advanced certificate course in aviation and hospitality management, when announced. Watch out this space for more information in the near future!

The enrolled students would gain knowledge in handling responsibilities of hotel front liners and food and beverage service. They would be imparted comprehensive education about the need of the aviation industry for smooth in-flight operations. To enhance their interaction skills, their written and spoken English skills will also be improved.
